Originally from Peru, Billy found a second home on Canada’s West Coast, where a love for travel and adventure led him to a career in tourism.
After earning a degree in Tourism Management from Capilano University in North Vancouver, Billy built his career working with destination marketing organizations, a kayak shop, and ski resorts before joining Discover Holidays.
His passion for exploration has taken him across North America, Europe, and Latin America, always seeking new experiences along the way.
When not working, you’ll find Billy embracing the outdoors; camping under the stars, carving through fresh snow on a snowboard, or tackling rugged trails on a mountain bike.
What is your favorite place in Canada?
North Vancouver. I've lived on the ‘North Shore’ since moving to Canada, and I don't think there's a better place. Where else can you snowboard, mountain bike, and go for a paddle all in the same afternoon?
What is your best travel memory in Canada?
My best travel memory in Canada is skiing in Whistler with my best friends. Big dump, buddies, and a snowboard — those are the kind of days I live for.
What one thing in Canada should you experience at least once in your life?
It’s still on my bucket list, but I would highly recommend visiting the Great Bear Rainforest. If you’re looking for stunning landscapes, incredible wildlife encounters, and a deeper understanding of Indigenous culture in Canada, this is the perfect place. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot a spirit bear!
