Grand Canada Railway Hotels | Fairmont Chateau Whistler
INTRODUCTION
Conceived by Canadian Pacific Hotels with a grand opening in November 1989, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler was designed to echo the grandeur of Canada’s historic railway hotels, featuring Châteauesque architecture with soaring turrets and steeply pitched roofs. This design pays homage to the country’s rich architectural heritage, reminiscent of the grand hotels built by railway companies in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Today, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler offers 519 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites, showcasing views of the surrounding mountains, forest, or Whistler Valley. Dining throughout the resort reflects the flavours and spirit of the Pacific Northwest. Coming December 2026 the re-imagined Wildflower Grill opens its doors post evolution, featuring a new signature menu focused on Fire, Field and Ritual. The Mallard Lounge invites guests to gather over handcrafted cocktails and live music, while Portobello provides artisan coffee, fresh pastries, grab-and-go selections, and a smokehouse-inspired dinner menu. After a day of exploring, unwind in our outdoor pools, multiple hot tubs and saunas, and a mountainside spa designed for complete relaxation. From spacious guest rooms and suites to personalized service and premium resort amenities, Fairmont Chateau Whistler delivers an iconic luxury mountain resort experience in every season.
