Day 1 Vancouver to Whitehorse | Flight + Aurora Viewing
Depart from Vancouver South Terminal for your short flight to Whitehorse. Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
This evening, bundle up in warm winter clothes and step into the serene beauty of the North, where crisp air holds an expansive starry sky. Far from city lights, enjoy peace and quiet as the Aurora Borealis comes alive, painting the sky with shimmering green, blue, and red hues.
Day 2 Wildlife & Hot Springs Tour + Aurora Viewing
After a morning at leisure, visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve to see Canada’s iconic animals in their natural habitats. Admire fuzzy caribou, powerful muskoxen, and majestic elk up close. Then, unwind at the Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, surrounded by stunning natural scenery. There, soak in mineral-rich waters while enjoying serene mountain views, perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. Later this evening, end your day with another spectacular Aurora Borealis show.
Day 3 Whitehorse to Northern Lights Resort & Spa | Sightseeing + Aurora Viewing
This afternoon, before checking in at the resort, enjoy a tour of Whitehorse led by an expert local guide. Beginning at the SS Klondike on the Yukon River, board the historic paddle wheeler central to the Klondike Gold Rush. Follow the river to the wooden fish ladder, to spot salmon, and Miles Canyon’s to take in the rapids rushing below cliffs. In town, admire murals depicting regional history and culture, before ending at the Old Log Church, Whitehorse’s oldest building.
Then, take a short transfer to the Northern Lights Resort & Spa to settle in for your stay. After a gourmet dinner, watch the aurora dance overhead with your first nightly guided viewing of the Northern Lights. Choose between the resort’s communal bonfire, complete with s’mores and hot chocolate, or the privacy of your own chalet, where you can relax among the comfort and magic of the Arctic. Days 4 – 5 Northern Lights Resort & Spa | Sightseeing + Aurora Viewing
Over the next few days, experience the colorful fall landscapes, with golden hues of yellow, orange, and red around every corner. Discover the Southern Lakes Region, marvelling at the turquoise-green waters of Emerald Lake and Carcross Desert, the ‘world’s smallest desert.’ Once called ‘Caribou Crossing’ for the migrating caribou herds, Carcross is rich in culture. Here, discover the deep heritage of the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council and the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, hearing about the traditions that shape the region today. End your day under star-filled skies, chasing the mesmerizing Northern Lights. Whether with s’mores and hot chocolate by the bonfire or in the comfort of your private chalet, the night will end with a stunning show. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included)
Day 6 Whitehorse to Vancouver | Flight
After breakfast, take some time at the lodge for one last spa treatment before checking out. Transfer back to Whitehorse airport and board your flight back to Vancouver as you bid goodbye to the Yukon. (breakfast included today)
