What is your favorite place in Canada?

Kluane National Park in Canada’s Yukon is the most impressive landscape I’ve ever witnessed. It’s rugged, vast and includes glacier-fed rivers, icefields, forests, and of course, the towering peaks of mountains like Mount Logan. I was lucky to visit in the summer and experience the Midnight Sun – there’s nothing quite like a sunny bike ride in the middle of the night.

Tell us about a special discovery that you’ve made in Canada.

The Rocky Mountaineer train is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that offers impeccable service and incredible views every step of the way. I recommend connecting their First Passage to the West route with an overnight VIA Rail train between Vancouver and Jasper to get a round trip experience on both of these famous trains. The glass domes and outdoor viewing platforms make you feel like you’re part of the scenery!

What one thing in Canada should you experience at least once in your life?

I love cowboys and cookouts, so for me, nothing beats the energy of the Calgary Stampede. I had front row seats at the chuckwagon races one year and will never forget the pounding rush of adrenaline as the riders and horses stormed past me on their way to the finish line. What a thrill!
