Arrive in Halifax and check in to your accommodations, ideally located in the downtown area of this vibrant and cosmopolitan urban centre on the Atlantic Ocean. Meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers this evening at a Meet & Greet.
Day 2 South Shore Touring
Discover the rustic charm of the renowned fishing village of Peggy’s Cove, where you will enjoy breakfast overlooking one of the world’s most photographed lighthouses. Continue along the South Shore to the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg, famous for her Grand Banks fishing schooners. Take a walking tour to fully experience one of the most remarkably preserved colonial settlements in the New World, and visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the town’s seafaring heritage. Day 3 Halifax to Charlottetown, PE
Learn about the Mi'kmaq people at the Millbrook Cultural & Heritage Centre before crossing Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island. Check into your Charlottetown accommodation for a two-night stay and enjoy an evening theatre performance at the Confederation Centre of the Arts (a substitution may be necessary depending on the theatre schedule). Day 4 Prince Edward Island Touring
Enjoy a free morning in Charlottetown, the birthplace of Canadian Confederation, or join a complimentary walking tour of the city. In the afternoon, tour the scenic North Shore of the island. Drive past red cliffs, white beaches, gently sloping sand dunes, and green fields of Prince Edward Island National Park. Visit Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place, the inspiration for Lucy Maud Montgomery’s beloved novels. Conclude the day with true Maritime hospitality at a traditional lobster supper. Day 5 Charlottetown to Baddeck, NS
Ferry across the Northumberland Strait back to Nova Scotia, then proceed to Cape Breton Island, the “Scotland of North America,” via the Canso Causeway. Take in the beauty of Bras d’Or Lake from the water during a sightseeing boat tour. Spend the next two nights in the charming village of Baddeck. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 6 Cabot Trail Touring
Experience one of the most stunningly picturesque drives in North America as you tour the Cabot Trail, which winds around Cape Breton’s rugged northern shore and ascends to the incredible plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Scenic lookouts provide unforgettable vistas of the island’s dramatic coastline. Day 7 Baddeck to Port aux Basques, NL
Visit the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, an extraordinary reconstruction depicting one-fifth of the 1744 settlement of New France. From North Sydney, board the Marine Atlantic ferry for an overnight crossing to Port aux Basques, your entry point to the island of Newfoundland. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 8 Port aux Basques to Port au Choix
Drive through the Codroy Valley and Gros Morne National Park — to be explored in greater detail later — before reaching the fishing community of Port au Choix. Here, learn about ancient cultures that have thrived along Newfoundland’s northwest coast for more than 5,500 years. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 9 Port au Choix to L’Anse au Clair
Board the ferry at St. Barbe to cross the Strait of Belle Isle to Labrador. Continue to Red Bay National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Basque whalers established a major station in the 16th century. This mystical place offers a fascinating glimpse into Labrador’s coastal history and culture. Overnight in Labrador. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 10 L’Anse au Clair to St. Anthony
Return to Newfoundland and visit L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, the first cultural discovery in the world to be recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk in the footsteps of the Vikings who landed here over a thousand years ago. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 11 St. Anthony to Cow Head
Enjoy a morning whale-watching boat tour in St. Anthony, followed by a visit to the Grenfell Historic Properties, celebrating the remarkable work of Sir Wilfred Grenfell and his mission to improve the region’s social, medical, and economic conditions in the early 20th century. Continue to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park for a two-night stay. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 12 Gros Morne Touring
Discover why Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is considered one of the highlights of Newfoundland. Take a scenic boat tour on Bonne Bay* and watch for bald eagles soaring above the fjord. Visit the Tablelands, a rare mountain of earth’s mantle rock pushed to the surface, creating a dramatic, otherworldly landscape. The park’s scenery is unequaled in Eastern Canada. Please note: Passengers may request a booking to take a boat tour of Western Brook Pond and visit Broom Point Fishing Premises instead of the Bonne Bay tour and Tablelands. This option includes a 45-minute (3 km/2 mile) walk each way to the dock and must be requested at the time of booking.
Day 13 Cow Head to Gander
Bid farewell to Gros Morne National Park and travel through Central Newfoundland to Gander, famous as the inspiration for the hit Broadway musical Come From Away. Learn about the town’s extraordinary hospitality following the September 11, 2001 attacks, when 38 planes unexpectedly landed there. Visit the North Atlantic Aviation Museum, which chronicles Gander’s vital role in transatlantic aviation. (Breakfast)
Day 14 Gander to Clarenville
Travel along the rocky coast of Notre Dame Bay to the outport of Twillingate, where you will visit Prime Berth Fishery & Heritage Centre, a tribute to the province’s inshore fishery. Keep your camera handy for possible wildlife sightings as you continue through Terra Nova National Park en route to Clarenville, your home for the next two nights. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 15 Bonavista & Trinity Touring
Explore two of Newfoundland’s most historic towns. In Bonavista, where John Cabot first landed in 1497, learn about the challenging life of the lighthouse keepers at Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site. Continue to Trinity, a beautifully preserved 18th-century town, where you can stroll cobblestone lanes and admire its many historic buildings. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 18 Clarenville to St. John’s
Continue to the intriguing old seaport of St. John’s, your home for the next two nights. North America’s oldest city and Newfoundland’s capital is dramatically situated amid the granite cliffs and slopes of the Avalon Peninsula. Enjoy a guided city tour featuring Victorian architecture, the busy harbourfront, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Confederation Building, and panoramic Signal Hill. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 17 Local Touring
This morning, travel to Bay Bulls for a boat tour of the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, home to puffins and countless seabirds. Next, visit Cape Spear National Historic Site, the most easterly point in North America. The afternoon is free to explore lively St. John’s at your own pace. (Breakfast)
