Day 3 Montreal to North Hatley | Private Tour
This morning enjoy a private tour of the Eastern Townships, ending at Manoir Hovey. A region of lush rolling hills named for its location east of Montreal, the Eastern Townships ("Estrie" in French), as they are generally called, occupy the southwest corner of the province along the US border. After the American Revolution, land parcels along the border were granted to Loyalists fleeing the US. The towns and villages these first settlers established reflect their New England heritage. After 1850 increasing numbers of French-speaking people moved into the region, and today its population is predominantly Francophone. On your tour, explore small towns such as Sherbrooke, the principal city of the townships. The Musee des Beaux Arts (admission not included) exhibits a fine collection of Quebec Art, focusing on the Eastern Townships. Arrive into Manoir Hovey, located on Lake Massawippi just outside one of Quebec’s most picturesque villages – North Hatley. Manoir Hovey is truly one of Canada's most charming and romantic inns offering lakeside seclusion, luxury with haute cuisine on 1800 feet of prime lakeshore. The Manor was built at the turn of the century as a private estate modeled after George Washington's Mount Vernon home. Since 1950, Hovey Manor has been a prestigious resort inn offering everything right on site for a complete vacation year-round. Enjoy your stay in a Treetop Suite, an elegant county cottage perched on a cliff overlooking the Manoir. (Dinner included today)
Days 4 North Hatley | At Leisure
We have left your time to be at leisure to enjoy the many activities that Manoir Hovey offers, be it an optional private guided tour of the region’s wineries and cheesemakers, a fishing excursion or soaring on a bicycle through the treetops, a cultural event or a night walk through an enchanted forest, the lodge will find the activity that matches your desires. Or you can simply relax and treat yourself to a massage or facial, enjoy a morning outdoor yoga class, or rent a kayak to explore Lake Massawippi. (Breakfast & dinners included during your stay)
Day 5 Manoir Hovey to Quebec City | Private Transfer
After breakfast, transfer by private vehicle to Quebec City. Following the St. Lawrence River, pass from city suburbs to the rural landscapes of forests and rich pastures, dotted with tiny villages that extend to Quebec City. Auberge Saint Antoine is located in the heart of the Quebec City's Old-Port, facing the majestic St. Lawrence River, a few steps away from the ramparts, the museums, and the bustling streets of le Petit Champlain. More than a boutique hotel, Auberge Saint-Antoine is a window on Quebec City’s past. Hundreds of artifacts from both the French and English regimes were discovered during an extensive archaeological dig on the property and are now on display for guests to enjoy. The day is free to discover Quebec City. As you explore the winding side streets, on foot or in a horse-drawn carriage, the romance of the city will enrapture you.
