Day 1 Vancouver to Port Hardy | Flight Today depart from Vancouver International Airport (South Terminal) for a scenic flight to Port Hardy. Upon arrival, please make your way to your Port Hardy accommodation, the rest the day is yours to explore Port Hardy

Day 2 Port Hardy to Farewell Harbour Lodge | Boat Transfer + Wildlife Viewing This morning, transfer (included) to Alder Bay for your mid-day departure aboard our high-speed water taxi for the scenic 30 minute service to Farewell Harbour. Greet Farewell Harbour Lodge staff at the dock and receive a welcome orientation and lunch. Relax, you’re here! After settling into accommodation, join an afternoon tour in search of marine wildlife in the waters of the famous Johnstone Strait and Blackfish Sound. This evening an optional presentation after dinner on some aspect of coastal ecology, or sit around the fire table and enjoy the sunset from our cedar deck.

Day 3 Farewell Harbour Lodge | Wildlife Viewing After breakfast, meet on the dock at 8am for a full-day bear viewing adventure to one of the main Grizzly viewing estuaries! You'll head out to one of several estuaries to view the bears either from a zodiac or on foot depending on the tide. Farewell Harbour Lodge doesn't use viewing platforms, as they prefer to view wildlife at eye level in their natural habitat. This evening's presentation is on some aspect of Great Bear Rainforest, Bears or First Nations culture.

Day 4 Farewell Harbour Lodge | Wildlife Viewing Enjoy breakfast this morning, then head out to the water for your choice of another bear viewing safari or a more extensive exploration of the incredibly rich waters of Johnstone Strait and the Robson Bight Ecological Reserve. Orcas typically return to these waters mid July, although Humpbacks and other marine life can often be seen in May and June.

Day 5 Farewell Harbour Lodge to Vancouver | Boat + Flight Choose how you would like to spend your morning today, either on a short sea kayak excursion in the protected and crystalline waters near the lodge, a marine excursion or guided interpretive rainforest hike. Return to the lodge for the return water taxi back to Alder Bay arriving for ongoing connections. Itineraries starting in Vancouver will end with a flight from Port Hardy to Vancouver.
