Day 2 Whistler to Quesnel | Rocky Mountaineer Train Today re-board the Rocky Mountaineer train and travel to the charming rural town of Quesnel, gateway to the North Cariboo. Enjoy breathtaking and varied scenery from the river canyons and lush farmland of the Pemberton Valley to the desert-like conditions of the Fraser Canyon and the rolling hills and vast ranch lands of the Cariboo Plateau. Highlights include the shorelines of Anderson Lake and glacier-fed Seton Lake, sweeping views of the Fraser Canyon and the crossing of Deep Creek Bridge, one of the highest railway bridges in the world. Day 3 Quesnel to Jasper | Rocky Mountaineer Your journey continues Eastward today to the majestic Canadian Rockies and Jasper National Park. From Quesnel, the train travels north along the Fraser River to the town of Prince George, then east through the forests of northern British Columbia, home to plentiful wildlife including a large population of moose. Entering the Rocky Mountain Trench, you are surrounded by the steeply rising Rocky Mountains to the north and the Cariboo Mountains to the south. Continue climbing past Mount Robson – which at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet) is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies – through Yellowhead Pass into the province of Alberta. Day 3 Banff to Lake Louise with Moraine Lake Tour Enjoy a relaxed morning in Banff. Continue to world-renowned Moraine Lake, nestled in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, and take a short walk up the Rockpile for the postcard-perfect view once featured on Canada’s historic $20 bill. Day 5 Jasper to Quesnel | Rocky Mountaineer Board Rocky Mountaineer this morning and begin your westbound journey from Jasper through the magnificent landscapes of the Canadian Rockies. Travel beneath towering peaks and through broad mountain valleys, with highlights including the commanding presence of Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, as well as Yellowhead Pass and scenic Moose Lake. As the day unfolds, the rugged mountain scenery gradually gives way to the forested river valleys and open interior landscapes of British Columbia, creating a striking contrast as you continue on to Quesnel. Day 6 Quesnel to Whistler | Rocky Mountaineer Continue southwest today through the heart of British Columbia, where the landscapes shift from the historic Cariboo region to the dramatic mountain scenery closer to the Coast. Follow sections of the Fraser River through wide interior country before the route winds past the beautiful shorelines of Anderson Lake and glacier-fed Seton Lake, two of the day’s most memorable highlights. With forests, mountains and remote valleys unfolding throughout the journey, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic on approach to Whistler, one of Canada’s best-known alpine resort towns. Day 7 Whistler to Vancouver | Rocky Mountaineer Enjoy a relaxed morning in Whistler before continuing south on the final leg of this remarkable journey through the Sea to Sky Corridor.
