Born and raised in the Czech Republic, Aneta always dreamed of traveling the world.
At university she decided to pursue the Tourism and Economy program where she graduated in 2015 with a Masters Degree, after which she began traveling and moved to the UK.
Three years later, she moved from London to Canada and is pleased to have called Canada her home ever since.
Aneta loves outdoor activities and social events, and her favorite things to do include snowboarding, skiing, roller skating, kayaking, hiking and camping.
What is your favorite place in Canada?
My favorite place in Canada is Whistler. It was my home for three years after London, and I really appreciate how many activities it has to offer. From hiking, skiing, mountain biking and kayaking to simply relaxing at the lake, Whistler has it all. Moreover, you're never alone as there is always someone who wants to join you to play in the woods.
Tell us about a special discovery that you’ve made in Canada
The Valley of the Five Lakes hike from the Icefields Parkway near Jasper was a very surprising hidden gem. Unlike Lake Louise or Moraine Lake where you can drive almost to the waterfront, here you have to hike. That said, you will get not only one lake as a reward, but five different lakes! Each and every one has its own color, shape and size.
What is your best travel memory in Canada?
My road trip around BC and Alberta is my best travel memory, especially the stop at Moul Falls in Wells Gray Provincial Park and Kinney Lake in Mount Robson Provincial Park. I really enjoyed the endless camping, hiking and wildlife watching activities, and driving the Icefields Parkway from Jasper to Banff was a stunning experience. People often compare and prioritize Jasper to Banff, but for me it was Banff that took my heart.
