Stretching 460 kms along BC’s west coast and only a short ferry ride from Vancouver, Vancouver Island is a huge draw for visitors seeking accessible wilderness and wildlife. The charming city of Victoria is the province’s political center, with many Parliament buildings that come alive at night with thousands of twinkling lights. Johnstone Strait is one of the best places in the world to see orca and humpback whales, and the Pacific Ocean is fringed by the beaches and lush forests of Pacific Rim National Park. At the northern end of the island, board a ferry from Port Hardy to cruise through the Inside Passage.
